“Laugh It Out”
October 2024, plaster, 70cm x 75cm x 80cm
Laughter is essential to being a human, it is a universal language that transcends borders and cultures. However, in today's society, we often neglect its importance. “Laugh it out” emphasizes laughter value. By depicting one of my cartoon characters laughing at a large scale, I am able to shock the viewer. This is because cartoon characters are rarely seen in a tangible form. When making this piece, I was inspired by the smooth textures and shapes of contemporary artist Kaws’s figurines.
